Potty for Plotgate peas.

Despite being past their 'sow by' date the Plotgate peas are springing ahead in eagerness for our

Open day success & a great work weekend plus lambs, lambs, lambs.....

Thanks to everyone who came to the open day this weekend & helped us make it a success. It was great to meet so many local people interested in what's happening at Plotgate & to get so much positive feedback about what we're doing with the site. We're really looking forward to seeing you again, spade at the ready!

March 2014 Work Weekend

A huge thanks to everyone who came to the work weekend last month, particularly to Sophie for bringing such a lot of willing workers with her. It was a great turn out with upwards of fifteen of us sitting down to feast on a gorgeous lunch on Saturday!

We got loads of tilthing done in the grain garden & added compost in preparation for the first seeds to be sown this year. We also dug swails for the willow area & did a lot of mulching thanks to Amy & her fabulous scything action.

November Gathering 23rd-24th
Plotgate Weekend 30 - 31st March Come along ...All Welcome

Lots of activities this Easter Weekend.... Ideas to share, seeds to sow and eggs to hunt!. Come and join in the fun!.

Next Meeting on the land long weekend 23rd - 24th February. This time we will be planting trees....Hope you can join us.

We did an amazing amount of work this January in spite of the weather. Amy, Dan and Will worked like Trojans laying slabs in the no longer muddy barn. Built a stonking highway to the field and surveyed and marked out the grain growing garden. Chris fished out masses of recycled silage wrap and the team laid it beautifully on the ground. So now we are all set for Spring growing of the ancient grains project....The whole wonderfully hosted and feasted by Sue and Johnny in their toasty warm home.We welcomed visitors Richard and Alda from Devon.

Merry Christmas to all our readers

As Christmas is a busy time, we will be meeting on the long weekend of 11 - 13th January. We will be putting up the yurt, and with the extended shed we will have a good space to work from.
Will is keen to plant some more lovely fruit trees and Dan will be encouraging us to expand our pond horizons and starting the grain growing area.
We will be having a celebratory New Year meal. Sue and Johnny will be organising some hot food and Chris will be roasting chestnuts...
See you there!
